Enchanted Rock, near Fredericksburg, Texas, is one of the largest batholiths in the United States. The pink granite exfoliation dome rises 425 feet above ground at 1825 feet above sea level. Huge house-size boulders are making their way down the slope. On top of the dome is a barren landscape dotted with pools of water and an occasional tree trying to grow in solid rock.
